I've begun a new LJ alter ego - dancesthrough
- to ponder questions, to propose ideas and concepts, to celebrate solutions.
Please join me there - it's "public", and will contain words I wish to share with a larger group, an expanded community.
Shimmering with inspiration, I invite you to come play!
Illustrated Discovery Journal Announcement
Well - I need to make some alternate arrangements for a location for the i_d_j
meeting that I've scheduled for this coming Wednesday.
kip has respectfully and firmly asked that we NOT meet here at RetroHaven(tm), for a variety of reasons.
Any ideas or suggestions where we could meet? mysterical
, is the Disco Diner still open, and a possibility?

A whirlwind Illustrated Discovery Journal night last night - GothicHobbit showed up for the very first time - she came a bit early - and I'm glad I was there, and not at the Wine Tasting (although I really had planned on going).
She brought in some of her new collaborative art - very proud of her! Can't wait to meet the metalsmith she's working with.
There was a veritable PARADE of friends that came by...rikki5050
, who we met for the first time.photognome
also popped by, and Deanna got home from Charleston!
Quite the night, although some were missed - I hope stigmatic
's situation with her mother is o.k...
I'm so enjoying this weekly feast of images - and want to continue - for those of you who want to participate and can't make it on a Wednesday night, please let me know an alternative that works for you...

Community of Women !!!
Take a creative endeavor
a group of women
sitting in a kitchen
some coffee, some beers
it's late at night
we just naturally create community !
The Illustrated Discovery Journal group, which just spontaneously came together, was a blast last night. I hadn't realized how much I'd missed it!i_d_j
will get a report, also.
For those that couldn't make it - I'm sorry it was such short notice - I'd been majorly dragging my feet - but no more!mysterical
came, with a new person, Terena. Teddy also came, with another new person, Elise. And Deanna joined us...
We're low on magazines, since the big Summer clear-out and recycling trip - so I need to gather more - although I have more than enough images now to do my journal. One of the things I did last night was to show and talk about my journal - and to help the others identify and gather images, plus I cut out a lot of pieces for the "community" pile - images that anyone is welcome to.
One of the BIG surprises is that mysterical
had bought some clothes for me - WOO HOO - I love it when my friends know me so well that they can go shopping like that - she got this amazing zebra-striped tank top - cotton and silk, with black beading at the bottom - will look great with some of the wilder capri pants I have for in the Spring, a gorgeous black jacket that has a beaded collar (which happens to be removable), a straight black short skirt, and an animal print long-sleeved shirt - all of it is wonderful, all of it fits... Just blown away that she would do this. She caught a great sale - and just snapped things up - she also got 2 vintage bathing suits for the bathing suit bank, downstairs (a community bank of swimsuits - many brought to us by friends, for the "shy" or newbie hottubbers - or the times that nekkie is not appropriate). What a sweetie mysterical
What feeds me, the sweetness in my life - is the incredible women I'm surrounded by - both in Real Life, and here on LJ.
And I am grateful!

Tonight's the Night for our first Clothing Swap
- looking forward to everyone coming over around 7 PM - will have some nummy snacks and a bit of alcohol, plus literally a TON of clothes to trade, from the looks of it.
See you then!
|Saturday, July 20th, 2002|
Shooting for this coming Tuesday evening for the Clothing Trade - if you didn't get that email, please email me back at email@example.com - it should be lots of fun, and a great way to rid yourself of the past, and step into an abundant future - with some new clothes!
Anticipating a very wide variety of shoes, bags, other accessories, as well as clothes from sizes 2 - 20 - Personally, I have a gob of things that I've never worn, as well as many silk suits and things from my checkered past - that are in the 8-10-12 range...
I also am collecting various sized things that would work as costumes for the yearly Fully Embodied Woman retreat that I participate in.
Let's have fun - please feel free to invite any other girl friends...
Let's start around 7 PM...
